Spiritual Awakening

What began as a salute to the Black Community of Raleigh, North Carolina is now a staple in the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville) and beyond.

Spiritual Awakening, a weekly 30-minute gospel music program, first aired on WRAL Radio in Raleigh in the 1940s and moved to WRAL-TV (CBS) in 1969.  This award-winning program still runs strong with weekly airings on both WRAL-TV in Raleigh and its sister station, WRAZ-TV (FOX) in
Durham.  It is now watched by viewers in North Carolina and parts of South Carolina and Virginia.

During her 25-year tenure at WRAL-TV, Dona Jackson Anderson produced Spiritual Awakening allowing local and surrounding area artists the
opportunity to be cast in the spotlight and spread their good news to millions in their homes with a positive and inspiring message that’s guaranteed to win souls.

As President & CEO of her newly created company, New Beginnings
, Anderson continues to produce Spiritual Awakening for WRAL-TV by providing artists from across the country and around the world.  In addition to local talent, past guests of the show include national artists such as Shirley Caesar, Jeff Majors, Cynthia Jones, Shawn “CoCo” McMillian, Nathaniel & Niecy and the Sowetto Gospel Choir.

The format of the show allows your artist to be showcased during the entire 30-minute program with an interview segment for viewers to find out more about them.
